Angel Obasi — known as The Style Connaisseur — is a creative entrepreneur and style visionary redefining the future of African luxury through fashion, design, and storytelling. As Co-Founder and Creative Director of Anchiel, a Black-owned, women-led luxury hat brand based in Canada, Angel is at the forefront of a new wave of African design—intentional, elevated, and globally resonant. Anchiel is dedicated to creating timeless, high-quality hats that blend traditional craftsmanship with modern sophistication, serving as a symbol of identity and artistic expression.

Since launching her content creation career in 2015, Angel has collaborated with some of the world’s most iconic brands—Moët & Chandon, Kilian Paris, Mango, Heineken, YSL Beauty, Infinix, Bioderma, and Guerlain—translating African narratives into compelling visual stories that celebrate elegance and cultural pride.

Angel’s influence in fashion and lifestyle has earned global recognition. Her viral “Pandemic Look” in 2020 captured international attention, leading to features on BBC World and CNN Africa. That same year, she was profiled in a Canal+ documentary highlighting her impact as a Nigerian fashion influencer. In 2022, she received the Adi-Com Award for Fashion, Lifestyle & Beauty, and in 2023, Business of Fashion (BoF) named her one of the “Gatekeepers to Nigeria’s Fashion Market.”

Angel is also the founder of Space Between Design, a furniture brand rooted in minimalism and form, and The Style Connaisseur, a lifestyle concept store for curated African accessories. Affectionately known as The Hat Lady, she has pioneered a modern hat movement that celebrates self-expression and individuality.
